I encourage you to follow No Hate in WA State to keep informed on how educators and allies can work to defeat these two initiatives that would harm students!

While Washington families are struggling to pay for food, housing, and health care, a mega-millionaire from California is spending millions on two poorly written initiatives that threaten the safety of Washington’s kids.

Initiatives IL26-001 and IL26-638 will endanger WA students by:
- Removing protections for victims of child abuse
- Forcing schools to out LGBTQ+ students
- Forcing invasive ge***al exams on many girls who want to play sports
- Restricting access to help when students need it most

That’s why we need you to VOTE NO on IL26-001 and IL26-638 this November.

Check out the latest NEA report on educator pay--see where Washington ranks. Our numbers are only possible because of our strong state and local unions! Collective bargaining for the win! Then take a look at New York, which spends $32,370 per pupil per year, compared to our state's anemic numbers.

NEA's 2026 reports provide data on teacher salaries, pay for education support professionals, and higher education faculty salaries in every state. The reports demonstrate the difference collective bargaining makes for both educators and students.

Last chance to RSVP: May Day is THIS Friday! We hope to see all of you at the corner of 196th and 36th Ave W (the Lynnwood Convention Center) holding signs in support of public education and labor. We’ll start at 3:30 and end at 5:30–come when you can and leave when you need to. We’ll have some printed signs, or you can make your own...there will be prizes for the best homemade signs! Wear red or your EEA gear. Bring your kids, your friends, and anyone else who wants to show up for education and unions, and rally with us!

The sign waving corner is just a few blocks from the EEA office, so afterwards you and your family are invited back to EEA for tacos, beverages, and social time! We absolutely need an RSVP for the “after party” so we can order enough food. Please RSVP by Monday at noon: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdQ609P46OKiMSU5TQu14Mwm35wKWz2-tjGWRLjUgppw5hKWw/viewform
