To say we lost a great man is an understatement. We lost one of the best Elks, but more so, a true and genuine human being.
This past Saturday, the NYSEA lost our newly elected State Treasurer, Paul H. Crumb. Paul was not only an asset to Peekskill Lodge #744 and the Hudson Valley District, he was an asset to the entire NYS Elks Association. Paul spent countless hours assisting several of our Lodges throughout the State. He would travel from one end of the State to the other to help those who needed it, asking for nothing in return—his only reward was simply knowing he helped.
On a personal note, Paul was nothing but kind and generous to Staci, Julia, and me. He was one of my biggest supporters and stepped up to organize a very successful fundraiser for us. We enjoyed fantastic dinners together, and we are so grateful that he traveled to the South Central District last Fall with PSP John Lawless and First Lady Maureen. We were able to spend a lot of quality time with him, and we had an absolutely fantastic time.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Crumb family and to the entire State Association. He was a true Elk, and I hope that all of us carry his passion for Elkdom forward.
