What a great morning it was at New York Elks Lodge #1! Veterans Chairman PDD John Nuzzi along with the entire lodge Veterans Service Committee put on a Pancake and French Toast Breakfast for members and guests to raise funds for all we do to care for our Nation's Veterans. 18 Veterans Committee members cooked, served and cleaned the fun and yummy breakfast, raising $3200 for us to use entertaining hospitalized Vets and getting them what they need. Chair Nuzzi wants to thank Lisa Maniscalco (Loyal Knight) and Debbie Hansen (Chaplain) for overseeing the members in the Lounge during the event as well as the entire committee for all the work they did making this event a success. Thank you heading a great event, PDD John. Thank you to Pro Printing of Lynbrook for donating the placemats, IHOP of Oceanside for their annual batter donation and Harbor Deli of Baldwn for their donation. Everything for this event was donated; thank you all so much for your generosity.

Please check out the entire photo album to check out all the fun goings-on.

On Friday October 30, 76 Elks and guests joined together at the lodge for our annual OctoBOOfest, a fundraiser for the Elks National Foundation. It's a mixed event; Octoberfest food and Halloween fun! Event Chair State Vice President Lisa Moldovan cooked up a storm for the crowd to enjoy including bratwurst, chicken, red cabbage, potatoes and cucumber salad. Treat bags satisfied end-of-the-meal sweet cravings. Everyone had fun showing off their costumes while enjoying the creepy music and decor, as well as perusing through the 34 raffle baskets generously donated by the membership! When all was said and done, we raised $2100 for ENF!!

A huge thank you to all who helped; Ticket Chair PDD Frank Hunt. Kitchen and Decoration Crew (and both Past Doe Presidents and Elk members) Jean Hunt and Dottie Maffucci. Expert Server Ellen Leyh. Goodie Baggers Chaplain Debbie Hansen, Lecturing Knight Christine Holton, Loyal Knight Lisa Maniscalco and PER Amy Schneller. Raffle Ticket Sale Masters Leading Knight Michael Director and his wife, Maria. And kudos to the many many members who helped with set up, clean up and raffle basket distribution. It is because of you that events like this are such a success!

The lounge is fully decorated, the raffle baskets ready to be won, the music promises to be spooky and the gang can't wait to see you! Didn't sign up, have no fear. SVP Lisa is cooking PLENTY...feel free to come down and join in the fun. Just see PDD Frank when you get there. Net proceeds from this event will go to ENF.
