We've saved our final team announcement for someone incredibly special to our foundation.
Our founder, Rebekah Gregory-Varney.
On April 15, 2013, Rebekah's life changed forever when the first bomb exploded near the Boston Marathon finish line. Her 5-year-old son, Noah, was sitting on her feet, and was able to act as a human shield for him.
That day changed everything.
What followed was a journey filled with unimaginable challenges, pain, and healing. But instead of allowing that tragedy to define her, Rebekah found a way to turn her pain into purpose.
And from that purpose, Rebekah's Angels Foundation was born.
Through her own experience, Rebekah understood how important it was for children and families impacted by trauma to have the support they need to heal.
Now, 14 years later, she's preparing to return to Boston for the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon.
But this time, she won't be alone.
She'll be taking on those 26.2 miles alongside her son, Noah. 💙
The little boy she protected that day is now a young man, and together they'll take to the very streets where their lives changed forever.
Rebekah, what you've built from one of the hardest moments of your life has brought hope and healing to so many. We couldn't be prouder to have you representing the foundation you created.
Fourteen years ago, you held your little boy close to protect him. This April, you'll stand beside him at the starting line. 💙
