A beautiful reminder from our founder, Rebekah. 💗
There is so much strength in allowing ourselves to feel it all the joy, the pain, the hope, and everything in between. We’re grateful for her willingness to always share her heart so openly. 💗
A friend took this picture in one of the hardest seasons I’ve ever walked through. When he showed it to me, I almost felt guilty for my smile.
I just couldn’t comprehend how I could look so content when the pain inside me was crushing.
It was the moment I realized that even though the hardships continue, my joy is still intact. My proof of sorts, that pain and happiness can co-exist.
And I know that to be true (well for lots of reasons), but also because one of the most challenging years, has also been one of the most successful professionally (even being off the grid.) But even so, I think I’ve been quiet partly because at times, it almost felt like I was failing.
I’ve literally built a life on resilience. I’ve always tried so hard to find the meaning. The good. But there are parts of the last few years that I still can’t find words for or make any sense of.
So, I stopped trying to.
I stopped looking for the reason. The blessing. The purpose. Not that they won’t come. (In my experience, they usually do.)
But right now, the capacity I have is to let myself JUST. BE.
Whatever that looks like.
Because the girl staring back at me in this photo is both happy and sad. Hopeful and fearful. Rested and tired. Outgoing and reclusive. The list goes on…
And for the first time ever, I’m ok with all of it.
So there’s a lot more to say, but I felt this on my heart to share now for one simple reason. I know I’m not the only one. And I have a feeling this is only the beginning of what this chapter teaches me.💗
