AIM is a two-year missionary apprenticeship for college-age men and women who want to get hands-on experience in missions.

Adventures in Missions is a chance to make a difference in the world. As part of the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, TX, AIM is an apprentice missions program for college-age young people. Adventures in Missions is a focused effort by and for Christian young men and women to work together to strengthen the church and bring the lost to Christ. AIM begins with the Bible, the one book that explains to us how to be different. We not only study God's word but we also learn how to teach its good news to others. In the end, AIM students are apprentice missionaries learning, growing, and serving on mission fields around the world. AIM is a minimum two year commitment to study and grow and then to go teach and serve. Those who have taken the challenge of being AIM students have seen God transform their lives for him. Often times AIM students return from the mission field with a renewed sense of purpose and understanding of how they fit within the story of God's salvation for humanity. Thus, an AIM experience can be "life changing."

We made it to HUT!!

We arrived Wednesday evening and jumped right into it. While we are here AIMers will experience many exercises and lessons to teach them principles of mission work in different cultures.

We are excited to be here working with HUT staff they are excellent people with great missions experience that they have been sharing with AIM students for many years now. We want to ask for prayer for safety while we spend the next few days so everyone can be fully focused on learning about cultures and how to adapt to new experiences in healthy ways while still remaining on mission.

The best way to start a day of service is with The Word.

Today we had a devotional time to sing and talk about about Gods word to set a focus for the day before we jumped into all the projects had lined up. We had several service opportunities, we were able to work on from redoing bulletin boards, moving furniture, electrical/audio work at the building, and yard work/clearing tree limbs.

Know someone who loves serving others? AIM might be a great fit, it gives them opportunity to use the gifts God has given them to serve others and share the gospel.

It’s been a great day to worship together with Lone Oak!

We spent the morning in worship and bible class getting to talk about missions and how Lone Oak has partnered with AIM for over 30 years. We were all reminded that we all have the same mission and need to be on mission where ever we are, whether an AIMer on the field, or a alumni, or supporter, or future AIMer. God has put us where we currently are to be on mission.

We joined the church for a potluck after service and continued in fellowship with the congregation. Then we spent the afternoon with host families before gathering back up to sing and encourage an old folks home.

We had dinner with the youth group and played games together for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow we will have a full day of service opportunities.

AIM made it to Paducah!

After another day traveling and stopping in St. Louis for lunch we made it to the Lone Oak Church of Christ in Paducah, Kentucky. We ate and had a devotional with some of the members before heading to host homes for the night.

Lone Oak has been hosting AIM for many many years now, and it’s amazing to see them excited to meet another AIM class with the same enthusiasm and excitement. We will get to spend the next few days here worshipping and serving with this congregation. So we would love continued prayers for safety, encouragement, and fruitfulness while here in Paducah.

AIMers are on the move!

We started a 9 day trip this morning on our way to Paducah, KY and HUT (Harding University’s Mission Village). AIMers will get to connect with and serve the congregation in Paducah. Today we drove to Springfield, Missouri where everybody had some fun at Bass Pro and Lamberts before we head back on the road in the morning.
Prayers for safe travels and open doors of opportunity would be welcomed!
