Building a history with God in the secret place:
We can develop a history between God and us that no one else knows exists. What God and us share in the secret place is not for any external ministry purpose. Until we get to the place where we just want more of Him, we will discover that He also wanted, simply, to spend time with us.
How do we get to know someone? We spend time with them, we set aside time to get to know someone. Not just a single encounter, but genuine time and effort spent. We can spend hours being with and listening to other people to know and understand them. So, why don't we try the same thing with God? In our secret place, if we spend the time and effort, with Him, as we do with others, we can encounter His presence, worshipping Him and hearing Him speak to us.
God is waiting to encounter us in our secret place. He longs for a secret history with us.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwells (takes up habitation) in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow (His presence) of the Almighty.
Psalms 91:9-12 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place (habitation), 10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague cone nigh your dwelling, 11 For He will give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways, 12 They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
