CHIME Charter

CHIME Charter Imagine a world where all children are equally valued, a world where all children are seen as a gift. CHIME Charter School

CHIME Institute's Schwarzenegger Community School launched in 2001 with the mission of creating an inclusive school that offered a high quality education for all students. Today our nationally renown model has been praised by countless educators and families; CHIME was 2004 California Charter school of the Year and 2013 California Department of Education G.O.A.L award winner (Grazer Outstanding Achievement in Learning). Our K-8 school nestled in the west San Fernando Valley offers a dynamic, nurturing, and challenging education program for children ages 5-14.

CHIME CHARTER ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: On September 4, CHIME alumna and children's book author Audrey Chang visited CHIME Charter to read her book, Side by Side, to our first graders.

The book tells the story of Audrey's relationship with her older sister, Sophia, who is also a CHIME alumna. It celebrates differences and highlights the beautiful bond between the two sisters. Lucky for us, Audrey and Sophia both came to school to share it with us!

Audrey spent time in each first grade classroom explaining her illustrations and answering students' questions. She donated a copy of her book to every first grade classroom and to the CHIME library. You can find Side by Side on Amazon at www.amazon.com/dp/B0HBYJV5MM. All net proceeds go to the SODRE Foundation to raise awareness of DDX3X.

We are so grateful to Audrey and Sophia for visiting!

We love visiting with our principals, but let's make sure it is for the right reasons. Remember to follow schoolwide expectations.

When your 4th grade teacher leaves town and comes back to school with a new name... we gotta wonder if it's a witness protection program or something else?

Let's be real, all our teachers and staff missed CHIME'S students and can't wait to see you tomorrow!

Be sure to check ParentSquare for Mr. Will's post last week. Even if you've been at CHIME for years, its always good to have a refresher on carline procedures. Most importantly, drive safe and be kind!
