Shire of Bryngolau Official page of Shire of Bryngolau (founded Oct, 2011) is a branch of the Kingdom of the Outlands and is considered the official presence of this group here.

The Shire of Bryngolau is the local chapter of the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) covering Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties in New Mexico, including the communities of Los Alamos, Espanola, and Ojo Caliente. Bryngolau is part of the Kingdom of the Outlands, the regional group covering New Mexico, most of Colorado, parts of Nebraska, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and El Paso & Hudspeth counties in Texas. This page is held and managed by Shire Bryngolau, a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. Questions regarding its content should be directed to [email protected]. Any discrepancies between the electronic version of any information and the printed version that is available from the originating office will be decided in favor of the printed version.

An announcement about AI-generated imagery in the Outlands

The Society for Creative Anachronism has an official policy prohibiting the use of generative AI art to create imagery presented as original contributions in any official SCA capacity or in official SCA spaces.

This applies to imagery used in connection with official SCA events, announcements, social media, websites, and other official materials. Please keep this policy in mind when creating or submitting graphics for events and official communications.

This prohibition applies regardless of which tool is used to generate the imagery. Using Canva, or any other design platform, does not make AI-generated imagery acceptable for official SCA use. Canva's generative AI features, including AI image generation, should not be used to create imagery for official SCA materials.

Canva remains an acceptable tool for graphic design using original artwork, properly sourced historical imagery, non-AI design elements, and other permitted assets. The distinction is between using a design tool to assemble graphics and using generative AI to create imagery.
