Summer Splash is coming up!

Join us for our annual summer party - an extra special one this year as we celebrate the Family Resource Center's 30th Birthday.
There will be splash pools, sprinklers, a slip 'n slide, games, crafts, birthday cake, ice cream and - new this year - a water slide!!

We will also have FSN shirts available to purchase and tie-dye and other swag for sale. Proceeds will go toward revamping spaces in the FRC and purchasing new items for families to enjoy when they visit.
We are so excited and can't wait for you to join us!

Meet Anna, one of our FRC Aides!

๐˜ผ๐™—๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฉ ๐˜ผ๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™–
Anna grew up in Poland and came to the USA when she was 17 years old. She holds both an Accounting degree and an Early Education degree as her heart was always drawn toward the care and education of young children. In 2007 she began her work as Lead Teacher at a private preschool. She held this position until she and her husband Paul moved to New Mexico in 2025, after he retired from 49 years as manager of a supermarket.

They came to New Mexico to be closer to their family, which includes two grown sons - Kubie (31) and Josh (28). Kubie is in San Francisco with his girlfriend Alyssa and Josh works in Los Alamos. They also have in-laws that live in El Rancho. Anna and her family enjoy the many summer and winter activities here, such as skiing, hiking, and exploring nature.

Annaโ€™s Polish heritage is still very prevalent in her life. Christmas Eve, one of the most important holidays in Poland, is celebrated in the family with traditional Polish food that Anna makes, such as Polish Christmas Beet Soup with mushroom dumplings, pierogies, and tilapia.

Anna had been volunteering for Pajarito Environmental Education Center and joined one of the FSN/PEEC Family Hikes this February, where she met Ashley (FSN Program Coordinator). Ashley heard of Annaโ€™s background in Early Education and recommended she apply for the open FRC Aide position. Anna quickly felt right at home when she joined FSN, and loved seeing familiar faces from her volunteerism at PEEC. She has fully embraced everything that the Family Resource Center has to offer and looks forward to making lasting relationships with the families that come in.

The Family Resource Center received a couple of 30th birthday gifts - new cabinets (paid partially by Los Alamos Early Childhood Collaboration), and a coffee/tea bar for the families that visit us.

The Next Chapter: Support Group for Divorced Women will meet on Monday, June 15 at 5:30 PM.

About this group: The Next Chapter is a safe, compassionate space for women* connected with Los Alamos who are experiencing divorce or separationโ€”whether itโ€™s recent, ongoing, or years in the rearview mirror. The group will meet on the third Monday of every month at Family Strengths Network and provide opportunities for connection, shared experience, and support. Meetings may include guest speakers, helpful resources, and community connections focused on healing, personal growth, and navigating life transitions.

This group is not about fixing or rushing the process, but about creating space to be heard, understood, and supported. Participants are welcome to share, listen, or simply be presentโ€”whatever feels right in the moment.

*While the term women is used throughout, this group may include those who identify as women and non-binary individuals

Join us for a Family Strengths Network Field Trip to the New Mexico Wildlife Center!
This one-hour guided tour includes a special ambassador animal encounter, giving families the opportunity to learn about and connect with animals up close.
After the tour, families are invited to stay and enjoy lunch togetherโ€”please bring your own lunch. This provides time to relax, connect, and continue the experience in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Bring water/snacks, hats, sunscreen, and picnic lunch if desired.
