Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries At our April 2011 Board meeting, Friends approved a name change to reflect more inclusiveness.

Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries is a non-profit, 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 1978 to provide additional funding for our community’s libraries. Friends of Mesa Public Library, our name since the organization's inception in 1978 before there even was a White Rock Branch Library, will now be Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries. It has taken us until 2013 to change most of the places our name is recorded, the Public Regulatory Commission and the IRS most importantly.

Big things are happening at your Friends Bookstore located at Mesa Public Library. May 30th is 1/2 price storewide sale and June 6th is a bag sale. Great opportunities to get your summer reading, gifts for that special guy, or just enjoy your dollar going further to support your community libraries. Open 7 days a week, staffed entirely by volunteers who love to talk about books.

Both Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch Library will have shortened hours on Memorial Day: Monday, May 25th.
We will be open from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Need your holds when we're closed? Place holds ahead of time and use the pickup lockers at Mesa Public Library during the Holiday closures.
