😍 Check out the new brick entryway to Cottage Gift Shop (aka Inside-Outside House). We replaced the old, uneven wooden steps. The railings will be painted white in a couple of months, once the wood dries. It's much safer for guests (who sometimes stumbled on the old ones), and I think it looks very classy! What do you think?

Our weekly Breakfast Meetings resume tomorrow morning at 7:30AM Chianti's Pizza and Pasta - Longwood. Our speaker will be Jason Byrne, Historian, President of Longwood Historic Society. Summer is heating up! See you there!

I'll be speaking with the Rotary Club of Historic Longwood on Monday morning, sharing about the birth of Seminole County and its split from Orange County. This is one of the renderings I'll use to tell the story, showing the Orlando courthouse shortly after its construction in 1874. The structure on the left is the town well, which supplied water to both people and horses. Both were built with funds from pioneer cattleman Jacob Summerlin. The fence around the building was key to keeping out free-range cows that roamed the street.

Reminder that the breakfast meeting for the club on June 1 is CANCELED. Instead, members are meeting up to view Revolutionary America at AMC Altamonte at 7PM. It is a special limited release only this weekend by Fathom Entertainment.
