CALLING ALL NOVEMBER BABIES! ⬇️

Did you know you can set up a birthday fundraiser to help the charity of your choice on Facebook?

Support Together We Care's mission to help families who are impacted by special needs and disabilities.

Facebook takes care of the donation processing with no fees, so 100% of your donation will directly support the families we help.

All you have to do is:
Go to www.facebook.com and login --> click 'Fundraisers' (on the left side of your screen) --> click 'Select Nonprofit' --> search for "Together We Care" --> customize your monetary goal --> set a duration --> title it --> click the 'Create" button --> watch your donations roll in!

You can even invite people to donate, and all donations will come directly to Together We Care at the end of the month.

Join Ascend Preparatory Academy for a virtual Special Education Community Chat designed to help parents and caregivers better understand the special education process and feel more prepared to advocate for their children. This practical, family-focused session will break down the differences between an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and a Section 504 Plan, provide real-world examples of how each may be used, and help families better understand their rights and role in the educational process.

The session will also explore strategies for effective advocacy, communicating with school teams, and building strong family-school partnerships that support student success. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, discuss common challenges, and learn about resources available to support students and families.

This virtual session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th from 6:30-8:00 PM. The session will be led by the Owner of Hands On Parenting & Education (HOPE) Consulting, LLC, an education professional with more than 29 years of experience and expertise in special education policy and procedures, IDEA, compliance, professional learning, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Before their baby boy is even born, he already has a pretty incredible cheering section 💙💛

Madison and Chris Newcomb of Dallas, GA recently learned their son has Down syndrome.

They’re still learning what that means for their family, but one thing is certain: this little boy is already deeply loved.

And now, his dad is going to swim, bike and run hundreds of miles for him.

Chris has been training for his first Ironman, but after learning about his son’s diagnosis, he decided to dedicate November’s race to his baby boy.

They’re also using the race to raise money for Together We Care, a local nonprofit that helps families of children with special needs find support, resources and a community that understands.

The organization is already walking alongside their family.

Madison says they can’t wait to meet their sweet boy and see all the ways he changes their lives.

She’s going to document their journey at: mads.newcomb !

He hasn’t even arrived yet, and he’s already giving his dad a reason to go the distance 💙💛
