Texas is too beautiful for cigarette litter 🚯

We all have a part in keeping Texas beautiful ⭐️

If you smoke, fully extinguish your cigarette and use an ash receptacle or portable ashtray. If you manage a public space, make disposal and/or recycling containers easy to find!

Small actions, taken together, help keep cigarette litter out of the places we love 💚

Cigarette butts don’t belong on the menu 🐟

When litter reaches the water, fish and other aquatic animals can mistake plastic debris for food 🐛

Keeping butts out of our City of Longview streets and waterways helps protect life beneath the surface and the water sources we depend on~

What looks small to us can be dangerous to wildlife 🐂

Cigarette butts can end up in the habitats animals depend on, and plastic litter can be mistaken for food!

Let’s keep City of Longview parks, trails, and waters safer for the creatures that call them home~

Rain doesn’t leave litter where it lands ⛈🚮

Rain can carry a cigarette butt from a City of Longview street or sidewalk into a storm drain and toward a local waterway 🌊

Keeping it off the ground protects the places downstream~
