Your Unique Definition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through leadership development, civic education, communication skills, mentorship, and opportunity-based programs.

We believe every child deserves access to environments that build confidence, encourage critical thinking, strengthen public speaking skills, and prepare them to lead in their schools, communities, and future careers.

Through debate initiatives, leadership experiences, educational programming, and community partnerships, we are committed to helping students discover their voice, embrace their potential, and define success for themselves.

Our mission is to create opportunities that inspire confidence, develop future leaders, and remind every student that their voice matters.

Over the last few years, my vision for this nonprofit has grown tremendously.

What started as a passion for helping youth and families has evolved into something much deeper:
advocacy, preparedness, education, leadership, and helping families navigate systems they were never taught to understand.

I’ve seen firsthand how many families feel overwhelmed when dealing with challenges involving poverty, disabilities, advocacy, documentation, CPS involvement, educational barriers, and life emergencies.

And I realized something:
people don’t just need motivation.
They need support, education, exposure, and guidance.

This next season is about rebuilding and strengthening our mission to better serve families and youth in real, practical ways.

We are building future leaders.
We are building informed families.
We are building preparedness.
We are building advocacy.

And this is only the beginning. 💙

HEARTWARMING STORY! 17-year-old Shantell "Princess" Pooser smiles wide as she became American Airlines’ first honorary flight attendant with Down syndrome. ✈️

The airline honored Pooser with the role on her 17th birthday – a milestone doctors did not expect her to see. In addition to Down syndrome, Pooser was born with a rare, degenerative airway condition that hinders her breathing. Her physicians say it’s terminal.
