🐾💕 THE MANY FACES OF MEEMAW! 💕

One says, “Where are my treats?”

Another says, “You kids get off my lawn!”

And that last one? Well, that’s the face of a girl who’s still got plenty of living and loving left to do! ❤️

Meet MeeMaw, our silver-faced sweetheart who has earned every one of those beautiful gray hairs. She’s got a little sugar on her face, a whole lot of charm, and one very important thing on her wish list… a home to grow old in. 🏡

We can’t help but think MeeMaw might be the PERFECT companion for a senior looking for a little company, a reason to smile, and a four-legged friend to enjoy life’s slower moments.

Because sometimes the best relationships aren’t about chasing adventures. They’re about sharing a sunny afternoon, enjoying a good nap, and simply having someone by your side. 💜

A senior for a senior. One beautiful friendship. 🐾

MeeMaw isn’t looking for someone to turn back the clock. She’s just hoping someone will make the time she has ahead of her the very best it can be.

MeeMaw is a 10 yr old, 50 lb Lab-x who came in via Animal Control. She’s been at LACAC for over a week w/o anyone coming for her. She does have some arthritis in both knees and is HW+. She just needs a soft spot to lay her head, maybe roll in the grass and snuggle on the couch. That’s it! Let’s find this sweet old gal her person. ❤️

the temperatures are finally dropping but the smiles are getting BIGGER! 😁 a little sunshine, a cool fall breeze, some zoomies, and plenty of playtime… our shelter pups are absolutely LOVING the weather this week! 🍁

and judging by these big goofy grins, we think it's safe to say they're having the BEST days ever! 💜 of course, the only thing better than a beautiful fall day at the shelter would be enjoying one in a home of their very own. 🏡❤️

friends, September was brutal for intakes- 342 animals entered the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center- 71 Owner Surrenders, 161 brought in via ACO and 111 Strays. LET THOSE NUMBERS SINK IN... that's 1 MONTH at an already full shelter.

we need HELP!! if you can add a family member, come down TODAY. if you can't adopt, SHARE this POST (don't like it- doesn't help). you never know who you know that might need a friend. so many incredibly deserving dogs and cats patiently waiting, some for over a month.

REMINDER, TODAY is another afternoon for a SHELTER SKIP DAY at Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center. Temps are cooler this week with rain moving in and out. Do YOU have a few hours to give?!?

Pup cups, park strolls or lunch on the patio, these field trips make a HUGE difference for LACAC shelter dogs- there a few wonderful candidates willing & waiting!!

Interested in joining in?!? Here's a quick refresher on how LACAC SHELTER SKIP DAY works:

-You can "check out" a dog for the day

-No pre-approval application required

-Outings happen during approved program hours: Tues, Thurs, & Sat from 12-4 PM

-No dog parks. LACAC wants safe, controlled, one on one fun

-Keep them cool, comfortable, and hydrated

-Dogs must return by 4:45 PM

That's it. Simple, fun, and incredibly impactful.
