Our Charity Roadblock group this week will be the Logansport Professional Firefighters Local 470. This group will be collecting for MDA Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Location: Intersection of 4th & Broadway Streets
Friday, September 4 from 11 am - 3 pm
Saturday, September 5 from 9 am - 1 pm

One of our Local 470 Firefighters was involved in a serious accident which resulted in multiple broken bones and a long road ahead with recovery and rehabilitation. He is a husband and a father of two small children. Please consider contributing to this fund to help ease the financial burden while they are dealing with this difficulty.

Indiana’s Matthew O’Connor of the Logansport Fire Department was recently involved in an ORV accident and was transported to a trauma center for treatment. We would like to take the time and congratulate Assistant Chief Bradley Shively on his retirement. Over his 25 year career, Brad has held several titles including Assistant Chief, House Captain, Training Captain and Lieutenant. He is also a United States Marine who has served in combat, even during his tenure at LFD. His leadership has been fundamental to our department and we wish him luck in his future endeavors. Thank you Assistant Chief Shively for 25 years of dedicated service and leadership!

Five Logansport Firefighters attended yesterday’s Surface Water Rescue skills day as either instructors or students. We are happy to be able to serve not only our community, but other local departments as well!

It is with great sorrow we share the passing of one of our own. Deb has been the administrative assistant for LFD for multiple years and has put in a lot of behind the scenes work to help our department succeed every day. Not having her presence on a daily basis will be a tremendous loss to our department. Please keep her family in your minds and prayers as they navigate through this tough time.

The community response for purchasing our cancer shirts this year has been absolutely amazing! These 4 shirts are all that we have left in stock.(all size XL, $20 each)

If you have already placed an order online, they will be delivered to central fire station tentatively around the third week of the month. If you would still like to place an order, there is still time. You have until August 9th to get in on this first round or orders. https://logansportforthecure2026.itemorder.com/

Sometime in September, the online store will then reopen for a couple of weeks and close again with hopes of getting all orders in on or before Early October.

We will post when orders are available to pick up and call people if they still are not picked up.
