FALL TIME is ENROLLMENT TIME! For 4-H youth members & adult volunteers. Often, we get asked, "I'm a 4-H Parent. Should I enroll as a volunteer?"
The average 4-H parent who helps set up for a meeting, assists with an activity, lends a hand at a class, or helps alongside an enrolled volunteer does not need to enroll.
Adult volunteer enrollment is generally for those who are taking on a leadership role, such as:
🍀 Leading a 4-H class or workshop
🍀 Working independently with 4-H youth
🍀 Leading or running a 4-H club meeting
🍀 Serving as a project, activity, club, or other primary volunteer leader
What if you are helping alongside an enrolled volunteer?
If you are working under the direction or leadership of an enrolled volunteer — such as a club leader, animal species leader, or project leader — you generally do not need to enroll simply because you are helping.
That said, if you’re interested in taking on a bigger role with 4-H or Cornell Cooperative Extension, we would LOVE to talk with you! 💚
There are lots of ways to get involved, and we’re happy to discuss volunteer opportunities that match your interests, skills, and availability.
