🎉 Congratulations to our very own Jeremy Leit, recipient of the Lee Keimel Memorial Scholarship from the New Jersey First Aid Council!

Jeremy has been a proud member of Livingston First Aid Squad since April 2025 and is a certified EMT. He will be attending Case Western Reserve University this fall, majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy. We couldn’t be more proud! 💙🚑

The Lee Keimel Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Lee Kiemel, a long-time delegate to the 6th District who served as Vice President and treasurer for many years, and who chaired the mobilization committee — a true pillar of the New Jersey first aid community.

Jeremy, your dedication to service at such a young age is an inspiration to us all. Wishing you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter! 🎓

As volunteers, we give our time — but there are those who gave everything. On this Memorial Day, we’re holding deep gratitude in our hearts for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live, laugh, love, and serve freely.

Service means something different to each of us. But today, it means remembering those who answered the call when it mattered most.

To the fallen and to the families who carry their memory — thank you. Your sacrifice is never forgotten.

Stopping opioid abuse begins at home. Get rid of old and unwanted prescription drugs by bringing them to the 2026 Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25th. It’s free and anonymous. The temptation to misuse drugs is eliminated and the drugs are destroyed in an environmentally friendly manner. And if you can’t make it on Saturday, drop boxes throughout Essex County are open year-round.
