Another big thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Livingston NJ for their generous donation. Thank you for always supporting our dedicated volunteer first responders.

Kiwanis of Livingston gathered for a summer Barbeque at The home of Gaby and Michael Vieira and it was the perfect opportunity to say thank you to our outstanding Livingston Fire Delartment and Livingston First Aid Squad. All proceeds from our 2025 Octoberfest, was donated to the two groups.

Our group of volunteers works hard on many events to give back to our community and was excited to present a check for $17,000. Shown in the photo is Kiwanians and First Aid Squad members Craig Dufford and Pat Ippolito, First Aid Squad President Stacey Melhorn, Kiwanis President Russ Ferrara, Fire Department President Tom Cooney, Fire Department member Tim Foley and Kiwanian and Chair of Octoberfest Michael Vieira.

Octoberfest 2026 is Sunday October 11, at the Gazebo in Livingston.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

From all of us at the Livingston First Aid Squad, wishing our community a safe and joyful Fourth of July! We’re proud to serve and protect the town we call home, and today we celebrate the freedom and independence that make this country great.

As you celebrate with family, friends, fireworks, and cookouts, please stay safe — stay hydrated and cool. We will see you at the oval.

Happy Independence Day! 🎆

☀️ Beat the heat — don’t let it beat you! 🌡️
When temperatures rise, your safety comes first. Here’s how to stay cool:
💧 Drink water before you feel thirsty — by then, you’re already dehydrated
🏠 Seek shade or air-conditioned spaces during peak hours (10am–4pm)
👕 Wear loose, light-colored clothing
🧴 Apply sunscreen every 2 hours if you’re outdoors
👀 Check on elderly neighbors, kids, and pets — they’re most vulnerable
Heat exhaustion can sneak up fast. Know the signs: dizziness, heavy sweating, and nausea. If you or someone around you feels unwell, move to a cool place and call for help.
Stay cool out there! 🧊

🎉 Congratulations to our very own Jeremy Leit, recipient of the Lee Keimel Memorial Scholarship from the New Jersey First Aid Council!

Jeremy has been a proud member of Livingston First Aid Squad since April 2025 and is a certified EMT. He will be attending Case Western Reserve University this fall, majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy. We couldn’t be more proud! 💙🚑

The Lee Keimel Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Lee Kiemel, a long-time delegate to the 6th District who served as Vice President and treasurer for many years, and who chaired the mobilization committee — a true pillar of the New Jersey first aid community.

Jeremy, your dedication to service at such a young age is an inspiration to us all. Wishing you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter! 🎓
