WIG – Wharton Investors Group

Mark your calendars: Next meeting on Wed, Jun 24, at 6p by zoom.

This group provides a forum to discuss investing, taxes, financial planning, and estate planning topics that are top of mind for members. Alongside peer-to-peer sharing (remember those case studies?), we’ll also benefit from insights shared by fellow club members who are accomplished professionals in these areas.

As always, our Club’s No Solicitation policy applies—we’re committed to keeping these meetings a “safe harbor” for open and respectful dialogue.

Sonia Estevez, one of the members of the Wharton Club of New Jersey Middlesex County Networking Group says: “I love attending the Middlesex County Networking meetings as I never know what I may learn. On Friday, I met an alum (Scott) who is able to help me connect with customers for my start up; and I learned about a new great biking trail from another alum (Neil) who told me about the Great Allegheny Passage. I enjoyed delicious fresh bagel and learned about sales compensation practices. All in just over an hour."

Any member of the Wharton Club of New Jersey is welcome to join. Go to our website to view a schedule of all upcoming networking events, or find them in our newsletter that comes out Thursdays at 8am.

Happy Mother’s Day! Reposting from UPENN

Mother’s Day began right here in Philadelphia 💐

The pictured historical marker reads: “Mother’s Day. Founded by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia. First officially observed in 1908, it honored motherhood and family life at a time of rising feminist activism. An early supporter was John Wanamaker, whose store stood opposite. Mother’s Day was given federal recognition in 1914.”

Across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, more than 2,500 cast aluminum markers have been placed by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission; seven are on Penn’s campus, with many more seen across the city.
