In 2016, I felt a strong calling from God to move closer to my aging parents. About two months later, I noticed a small mobile home community near my parents' retire
ment community. Not at all run-down, tucked neatly into a semi-wooded area. I'd seen it before, but this time I pulled in to take a look. What I saw interested me enough to bring my wife by. We drove through and looked at the community and found ourselves saying things like, “Look at that one, it's a beaut!” Then, after considerable prayer, I turned to her one day and said, “I think we are being called here to minister to the folks in this community.” She agreed. We put an offer in on the unit we liked and they accepted. God made a way where there was no other way. I spent the next few months working my day job and coming home to remodel the new house. In that same year I felt God was urging me to start a non-profit ministry to help the folks in our new community and at two other retirement communities nearby. It was time to officially create Love Bears All, Inc. We knew He wanted us to file the paperwork, gather a Board, register the name, write a vision and mission statement and seek out partners in ministry to get us started serving others. God is using us here and so many others who have a heart for ministry and a spiritual gift of Helps and/or Service. We found help with moving volunteers, service ministries and a Food Bank ministry. Others helped us establish bank accounts, write Articles of Incorporation or file other paperwork. We've lived here for several years now, made great friends and enjoy meeting all of our neighbors. We've held small group Bible studies in our home, brought puppet performances, concerts, BBQs, ice cream socials, Christmas specials, we were even able to bring the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and the Ghostbuster Car to the community for special events. We have had days where many of our volunteers came out to serve the needs of the community in simple ways like yard work, house work and clean-up help. We've been able to provide food, clothes, home repairs, car repairs, medicine runs, grocery runs and financial assistance to different folks. In August of 2020, we established a local church ministry in the same community, called Disciples Christian Fellowship, and it also has a vision to reach into the local community and serve others. We have regular Sunday Worship Services at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday Evening Small Groups each week. Is God tugging on YOUR heart to help us serve the needy and hurting people in our community? Would you be willing to pledge a year’s worth of support at just $20, $40 or $80 per month to Love Bears All, Inc. to see people be helped in their time of need? How about pledging just $10 a month for a year - that's just $120.00 for a year - could you do that? Would you give up a little of what God has blessed you with to know that you have impacted the life of a Senior Citizen that lives on $1,400.00 per month or less? Or, help support a battered woman, a disabled man, an orphan? Pray about it first, then be obedient to God in what He tells you. If He does not lead you to give to us, find who it is you are supposed to be giving to - because He wants you to be giving to someone. "Give and it shall be given unto you, in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, men shall pour into your lap. For with the same measure that you give to others, it will be measured unto you." Luke 6:38
