We know what shows up at our Food Shares can feel a little unpredictable sometimes. 💚
The truth is, a lot of the food we share depends on what is donated to us through our food rescue network, local partners, farms, and our regional food bank. We don’t always get to choose what’s available.
But when we do have funding to purchase food, we let YOU help guide those decisions.
That’s why we ask a few simple questions during check-in:
• First name
• ZIP code
• Phone number (only so we can reach you if there’s ever a food recall or important food safety notice)
• Household size
• Number of adults
• Number of children
And one of the most important questions:
“If funding was available, what types of food would you like to see us offer?”
Your answers help us understand what our community actually needs and wants. Whether it’s culturally familiar foods, more fresh produce, protein, dairy, pantry staples, or something else entirely, your feedback helps shape our purchasing decisions.
We also want to be clear about a few things:
💚 We do not share your information.
💚 No ID is required.
💚 There is no public charge.
💚 We ask only for the information needed to better serve our community and to contact you in the event of a food recall or food safety concern.
Those surveys aren’t just paperwork. They help us understand who we’re serving, what foods are needed, and what we should prioritize when funding becomes available.
So thank you for taking a few moments to answer those questions. We really do read them, track them, and use them to make decisions whenever funding allows.
Community-driven food access starts with listening. 🌱
