Please Donate: Patrick Straut Foundation Scholarships
Please Consider a Donation. Facebook has taken away my ability to use their donation feature because the Patrick Straut Foundation is not a public charity. This is the only fundraiser we do each year.
For twelve years we have been giving scholarships in Patrick's name--58 students have benefited from scholarships to date. Patrick's legacy lives on in the form of annual scholarships to graduating seniors in the Gifted and Talented program at Wheat Ridge High School.
100% of donations received fund scholarships.
You can donate through the Foundation website, Pay Pal, or mail a check directly to the Foundation. The Patrick Straut Foundation is a tax-exempt 501 (c) 3 private foundation. If you mail a check, please respond to this email to let me know that it is coming. Our fundraising window is compressed this year. We will be making scholarship decisions on April 23.
Can you donate to help fund these important scholarships awarded to graduates based on their resilience? If we all give what we can, even $10, we can honor these kids who started high school on Zoom.
In the words of just a couple appreciative previous scholarship recipients:
"The situation I’m in reminded me of you because I’ve had to be resilient and keep going even though it’s hard. I am so thankful for the opportunity you gave me, and I promise to continue being resilient while I reach my goal.”
“Being a child of hard-working immigrants has shown me to never give up and follow my dreams. They instilled in me a strong work ethic, and always told me I could become not only a first-generation college student but a first-generation Colorado School of Mines student."
More information about prior recipients is available on the Foundation website. Mail a check to ensure that the full amount of your donation funds scholarships.
