Mildred "Millie" Ingle Obituary

Mildred “Millie” Morrison Ingle, age 90, of Lincolnton, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Saturday, August 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in the home she cherished.

Millie was born October 20, 1935, in Lincoln County and was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie Daniel Morrison and Nellie Eugene Parker Morrison. A woman of deep faith and a servant’s heart, Millie devoted much of her life to her family, her church, and the ministry she shared with her husband, Rev. Charles H. Ingle.

For 74 beautiful years, Millie was Charles’s devoted wife and faithful companion. As a beloved pastor’s wife, she stood beside him through the many seasons of their ministry, serving faithfully in the churches where he was called. She held numerous positions within the church and gave generously of her time, love, and talents. She was an active and cherished member of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden.

Above all else, Millie loved her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a special way of making the people she loved feel cared for, and many of her fondest memories were made around her table, where she lovingly prepared meals for her family. Her home, her cooking, and her presence were gifts that brought everyone together.

Millie also had a love for travel and enjoyed the opportunity to see new places and make memories with those she loved. Her life was marked not only by the places she visited, but by the countless lives she touched along the way through her kindness, faith, generosity, and unwavering love.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith and family that will continue for generations.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 74 years, Rev. Charles H. Ingle of the home; her sons, Mike Ingle and wife, Reva, of Lincolnton, and Mark Ingle and wife, Cindy, of Lincolnton; granddaughters, Brandy Bard and husband, Michael, of Cherryville, and Jessica Jordan and husband, Sam, of Lincolnton; grandson, Ben Ingle and wife, Lauren, of Lincolnton; and her seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Ryker, Zoey, Link, Kayleigh, Elijah, and Josiah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure the love and memories they shared with her.

In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Though her family will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing that Millie has gone home to the Lord she faithfully served and is now experiencing the eternal peace she longed for. Her love will remain in the hearts of her family, her church family, and all those blessed to know her.

A memorial service celebrating Millie’s life will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden, with Rev. Donald Cline officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 1, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators at www.wycliffe.org.
