COPE Ministry Children of Pokot Educational Fund COPE was founded in 1997. The organization's headquarters is located in Lincoln, IL.

The African mission is located in Tapadany, Pokot, Kenya. The purpose of the organization is to provide a Christian education to the children of the Pokot tribe located in Kenya. The ultimate goal of COPE is to bring each of the Pokot children and adults to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Since 1997, the mission has grown and developed and become a center for the community, teaching Christian beliefs and ethics.

Our PP2 students (kindergarten) went on a field trip yesterday! Many people in our tribe never leave a 5 mile radius of their home village unless they have the finances to go to a hospital when sick. Taking our students at all different ages out of the village to see other parts of the Kenya increases their curiosity, their passion for learning, and their ability to dream of the many different options their future holds.

We had a wonderful event yesterday! Thank you to everyone who donated, prepared food, volunteered, prayed, and attended! We are still waiting on some final numbers to be tallied but we are estimating that we raised about $9000 yesterday morning for the mission in Pokot! God is good!

Every special little moment in our school and on our compound happens because someone said yes to Jesus prompting them to lean in. All the way from Paul Boatman bringing Barb O’Donohue to West Pokot in 1997, to Barb saying yes dedicating her life to this community, to Pokot teachers and community members saying yes to coming along side this mission and loving on their neighbors, to mission trip participants saying yes to travel across the world to invest their heart in Pokot, to YOU saying yes to caring about , giving towards, praying for, and promoting ministry, education, and outreach amongst a tribe of Kenyans who have a hunger for the gospel and the abundance of life Christ offers!
Tomorrow is another chance to lean in to what Jesus is prompting and come celebrate and support what He is doing in West Pokot. We hope to see you there! Harambee 2026: Experience Pokot!
