I am very concerned by the current president's actions to cancel the collective bargaining agreements of numerous federal workers. Although it is no surprise that Mr. Trump would breach a contract given his multiple business failures and bankruptcies, it
is disheartening that he once again is ripping security away from the working class. Collective bargaining agreements give employees the ability to improve wages and benefits, ensure safe working conditions, enable a sense of job security, and dispute
resolutions through the grievance procedure. As a union member and chief steward, I strongly support the ability of all employees to organize and bargain in an effort to have a voice in their place of employment.
I implore the courts to recognize this illicit overstep by the executive branch and ensure that the federal employees influenced by this heinous decision have their right to collective bargain not only upheld but reinforced by the judiciary.
