The Old Art Building 2022 - A Centennial Year
This year we celebrate 100 years of serving community, 100 years of promoting culture, and 100 years of continuous community support to preserve this historic treasure. Since it’s inception in 1922, the Old Art Building has served as a performance destination, an accredited university art campus, and a community center.

We recently had the opportunity to appreciate our 2026 volunteers with Coffee + Donuts in the Garden! 🍩☕️

Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do at the OAB, and this small celebration was all about celebrating YOU and the huge impact you make everyday.

Whether you’re getting your hands dirty in the soil, hanging art for one of our many exhibits, setting up (and tearing down) for a concert, or welcoming visitors with a smile, your time and energy make this place flourish.

A very special shout-out to Kit Wysor on being named the Old Art Building’s Volunteer of the Year for her tireless dedication as a board member, groundskeeper, and volunteer coordinator. From recruiting new helpers to supporting local art and environmental programs, Kit’s passion and energy truly make the OAB, and our entire community, thrive.

We're excited to kick-off a new year of After School Art NEXT week!

If you have a K-2nd grade kiddo, there are a few spots available on Wednesdays in September, October, and November.

Lead by Tearwater T, this weekly class is all about playful art making with a focus on the process and experience of creating!

Join us Thursday, August 27 at 6pm, as we welcome to the front lawn stage. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for an evening of great music and even better community!

What an amazing time it’s been for me in Leland Michigan with my show at Old Art Building | Arts & Culture! I’ve been teaching workshops and meeting so many people and getting so much appreciation for the work..It just makes me so happy! Many paintings have sold, but there are still some available and if you’re interested, you can DM either me or the OAB and we will get back to you with prices and sizes. (swipe to see some of the paintings that are available. ) I am thrilled that a lot of the nudes and dancers have sold, but there are still some left if you’re interested, please let us know which ones you like and we will get back to you to let you know if they are available and the price.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of incredible live music right here at the Old Art Building! We’re beyond excited to announce that multi-instrumentalist, storyteller, and total musical powerhouse LOGAN METZ is bringing his tour to Leland!

You might know him from touring with Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, sharing the stage with legends like Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, Bob Weir, and playing piano on tour with Willie Nelson himself!

Now, he’s bringing his sharp wit, rich American roots sound, and piano-driven storytelling to OUR stage! Think Tom Waits meets Randy Newman with a rock ’n’ roll heart. You do not want to miss this one!

Opening TONIGHT: Finding Beauty & Light: A Gayle Kabaker Exhibit

Join us on the OAB Front Lawn this Thursday for Music In The Air!

We’ll be welcoming The Elizabeth Landry Trio to the stage. Music starts at 6pm. Elizabeth Landry

🍎 Show your support for the Leland Parent Teacher Organization who will be on site with cherries, lemonade, and baked goods. All proceeds and donations will fund student vouchers for the Farmer’s Market this September! Wear your purple and gold and show some comet pride!

🧀 Picnic Boxes from Peninsula Provisions MI are available! Choose between the Charcuterie Box or the Mediterranean Platter. Place your order directly with Peninsula Provisions by Wednesday for Thursday delivery to the OAB!

🖼️ And last but not least, the 2026 Art Leelanau Exhibit will be open late. Pop into the big room to see the incredible art work from more than 100 artists!
