Every evening that we serve meals to our community there are unique and special parts to it. Tonight at LCUMC terrific Tuesday meal we had many people bring in yummy deserts, the best volunteers serving food with a smile, and people gathering and sharing food and good conversation together. It’s so special to see how food can bring a community together, and it means so much to us that we are able to create safe spaces for people to come get a free meal and spend quality time with each other.

Every single donation helps us continue our mission to feed people. There’s always an open link on our website for donations too! Thank you all so much!! 🙏🏼❤️

Thank you all so much! Food Rescue of Goodwill Northern Michigan we can do what we do because of you!

We are so excited for this opportunity to better serve our guests and volunteers. 🙏🏻

Congratulations to our friends at 5loaves2fish on receiving an Impact 100 TC
grant! We know firsthand what an extraordinary vote of confidence it is to be selected by the women of Impact100.

Last year, Food Rescue was honored to receive a grant to help fund our new produce cooler, a transformational investment in getting more fresh fruits and vegetables to neighbors across our region. We're thrilled to see 5Loaves2Fish receive this support. As a Food Rescue partner, their team turns rescued food into hundreds of meals each week, served with no questions asked at nine meal sites for neighbors experiencing food insecurity and homelessness.

Congratulations to the entire 5Loaves2Fish team! We cannot wait to see what this grant makes possible.

Yesterday, we had the good fortune to sit with our friends Taylor and Bill (from Food Rescue of Goodwill Northern Michigan and 5loaves2fish, respectively) at Northwestern Michigan College to speak with students pursuing various social work degrees.
Because October is "Tackling Hunger Month," we discussed the impact that food insecurity has on our community.
We met some great students, acquired new friends and volunteers, and shared what we have learned from our neighbors.
If you or someone you know is facing food insecurity, please reach out and let us direct you to the amazing resources in our area!
If you want to help, consider voting for Food Rescue of Goodwill Northern Michigan to be the recipient of Oryana Community Co-op Groceries for Good Campaign. You can vote for up to 12 local organizations!

It’s always so appreciated when local businesses donate their back stock when their seasons come to an end. Thank you so much to Kevin and Sue and the team at capital dog!! See you next year! In the meantime we’ll make good use of these goodies in our kitchen 🧡
