On October 2nd - 3rd, MHI's symposium includes 7 educational tracks and 3 plenary sessions.

MHI's session on infectious disease, "Protecting Yourself from Infection," explores how to best protect yourself from infection after a heart transplant and how to recognize warning signs early.

Heart failure rates are rising for younger adults. If you or someone you care for is living with heart failure, we would love to see you at our monthly heart failure support group meeting on Tuesday, September 8🗣️

This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm ET, and is open to heart patients of all ages, family, and caregivers looking to share their experiences & emotions, and to connect & support one another along the heart failure journey❤️‍🩹

Maintaining your heart health goes far beyond the doctor’s office visits. It happens while you’re walking the dog, chasing a deep sleep, or considering that second cup of coffee.☕️💜

Brief doctor’s visits rarely capture the full picture, and those "in-between" moments might be the missing piece to really understanding heart conditions.

That’s why we created the OCORO Heart Study. It’s an all-remote, observational study designed to map how hearts behave over time —not just in a single moment. The goal is to help researchers uncover patterns to better understand heart conditions on a mission to build a future of personalized care for current patients—and for everyone who follows.

While your participation helps advance heart research, you’ll also receive a monthly summary of your data that you can choose to share with your own doctor.

Alicia Glover, a member of our Mended Hearts Coeur d'Alene chapter, was recently awarded MHI's Nurse of the Year Award for her incredible work developing a clear and comprehensive handbook for local heart patients and their families.

"Making information more accessible to patients and caregivers is already having a positive effect. For example, with more heart patients reading how to care for their surgical wounds, Kootenai Health is seeing fewer cases of infection."
