Thanks to Dr. Knichole Lee for coming by Rotary yesterday in presenting an interesting program on rural hospital challenges. Dr. Lee is from Baxley, but serves the greater Georgia and beyond area in many ways.

Congratulations also to Patrick Sapp on his induction as a new member to the Hawkinsville Rotary Club. We are excited to have him join us.

This week the Rotary Club of Hawkinsville recognized the Student of the Month for each of the Pulaski County Schools. Students received a certificate along with assorted goodies and a Dairy Queen gift card.

This week, the Rotary club of Hawkinsville welcomed Kenny White, Director of the Pulaski County Recreation Department and Cal Young who will take over this summer as the new director.  Cal grew up in Cochran, where his father was the head baseball coach at Middle Georgia College.  After playing baseball for Bleckley County HS, Cal continued his baseball career at East Georgia College and Armstrong State where he completed his degree. He and his wife are excited to be in Hawkinsville and look forward to serving the community and continuing to build on the strong recreation department established by Mr. White.
