🌟 Auxiliary Instructor Spotlight: Mrs. Ashley Porter! 🌟
Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Mrs. Ashley Porter, Auxiliary Instructor for our Marching Machines! ❤️🖤
❤️ A Little About Mrs. Porter!
Ashley grew up in Hawkinsville and attended PCES before graduating from Westfield in 2002. She graduated from the University of Georgia with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education, as well as her specialist degree in teacher leadership from Valdosta State University. She has been teaching for 20 years and has experience in grades Pre-K- 6th grade. Mrs. Ashley Porter has been teaching at PCMS for the past ten years. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jay, for 19 years! Together, they have two children, Georgia Lynn and Tom, along with their two dogs, Remi and Vader! 🐾
When she’s not working with our band, Ashley enjoys reading, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, volunteering at her church, and visiting Disney! 🏰 She also owns a wedding coordination business, Peppers & Pearls Weddings!
🎶 Her Journey to the Marching Machines!
Before joining the staff, Ashley spent three years as a proud band parent and has now been part of the coaching staff for two years!
Her love for dance started in high school, and she spent 10 years as a competition dance mom! With her experience and passion for dance, she knew she wanted to help our auxiliary students grow and succeed.
❤️ More Than Just a Performance!
For Ashley, working with the Marching Machines is about so much more than routines, practices, and competitions.
It’s about the students!
When asked what she loves most about working with them, Ashley shared:
💬 “I love that they always make me smile, even on a bad day.”
She hopes her students learn that hard work and dedication pay off in the end, a lesson that will stay with them long after their marching band days are over.
And her message to students and families is one we can all appreciate:
💬 “Your attitude is your greatest accessory!” ❤️
❤️🖤 Mrs. Porter, thank you for the time, love, and dedication you pour into our auxiliary students!
From practices to performances, you’re helping these young ladies build confidence, develop discipline, and learn the value of teamwork.
We are so thankful to have you as part of our Marching Machines family!
