Getting essentials into the hands of families who need them is exactly what we are here for. 🩷 Each month, Helping Mamas Albany partners with the Dougherty County Health Department to make that happen, creating an accessible point in our community where families can get what they need, no barriers, no runaround. This is what showing up for Albany looks like.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’re speaking up about what too many families face in silence.

One in three women experiences domestic violence. Many are mothers forced to make an impossible choice: safety or stability. When moms flee abusive situations, they often take only what they can carry. That means leaving behind diapers, wipes, and essentials their children need.

Our partners understand this. Access to diapers and hygiene products means mothers can focus on safety and healing instead of choosing between essentials and survival.

Basic needs are not luxuries. When families have access to diapers, period supplies, and hygiene items, they rebuild with dignity and stability during crisis. Together, we can help survivors begin again with the essentials every family deserves.

Albany families, this is your reminder. 🩷 Tomorrow is the third Wednesday of the month which means our free community distribution event is happening at the Dougherty County Health Department from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Diapers and essentials available while supplies last, hosted in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health Southwest Health District. Pass this along to anyone who could use it.

THAT’S A WRAP ON TEAM CHALLENGE!

The final numbers are in, and what a run it’s been! From friendly rivalries and creative diaper drives to online donations and teams making their moves on the leaderboard, you showed up and made every donation count.

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated, shared a post, rallied coworkers, challenged a friend, or helped spread the word. You were a part of this team effort, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Making donations convenient matters. We’ve expanded our drop-off locations so giving back is easier than ever. You can now drop off diapers, wipes, period products, and essentials at The Clay Spot, Oakland Self Storage, or our newest partner, Dawson Jewelry & Pawn. Choose the location that works best for you and drop off during their business hours.

This Friday is your chance to support our mission to fight Diaper Need!

The Clay Spot welcomes diapers, wipes, and period products Wednesday through Saturday, 11 AM to 5 PM. Oakland Self Storage accepts donations of all sizes Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. Both are convenient ways to support families in your community without a trip to our warehouse.
