Staff Highlight:
Jamison Baker has been on staff at The Red Barn since the summer of 2025. She is a long-time Birmingham resident and our newest Therapeutic Riding Instructor Apprentice. She is always willing to jump in and help with chores, fundraising, lessons, and just about anything we ask of her. Her energy is infectious, and we are lucky to have her!

Sign-ups are almost closed. Grab your spot in our Fall Class, Bully in the Barn! Perfect for your homeschool friends who are looking for a daytime activity. This class is for children with or without disabilities.

Ages: 7 to 11

Dates: Mondays 1:30-3:00 (September 14th- November 16th)

Cost: $250, with scholarships available based on financial need

Through ground activities with horses, children will learn how to identify bullying behaviors, strategies to reduce those behaviors, and ways that they can support those who have been bullied.

Welcome to The Red Barn, Patty Anderton!

We’re excited to welcome Patty to our team as a new riding instructor! With 55+ years in the horse industry and 20 years of experience in adaptive horsemanship, Patty brings an incredible depth of knowledge and passion to The Red Barn.

A PATH-certified instructor, Patty has worked with Special Olympics equestrian teams and served as a Director of Equine Services for a nonprofit. She is passionate about helping each student build confidence, independence, and a positive connection with their horse.

Please join us in giving Patty a warm Red Barn welcome! We’re so glad to have her on our team!

We’re excited to share some wonderful news!

The Red Barn has been selected as one of 12 Birmingham-area nonprofits to receive funding from the Remy Fund for Pet and Animal Services!

We are incredibly grateful to receive a grant to support the care of our growing herd as our Therapeutic Riding and Equine-Assisted Learning programs continue to expand.

Our horses are at the heart of everything we do. Their care is a big part of what makes it possible for them to show up every day for the children, veterans, and individuals who rely on their connection with these incredible animals.

A huge thank you to the Remy Fund and the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham for recognizing the important role animals play in our community and for investing in the well-being of the horses who help change lives at The Red Barn!
