🚨Three children are now safe and a Pell City man is behind bars after police received a tip about a child potentially being in danger.

Pell City Police say the tip came Tuesday from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, prompting an immediate investigation.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in Pell City, where they found three children. All three were safely removed and placed in the care of DHR.

Paul Alan Banion, 57, was arrested and is facing 12 charges, including two counts of first-degree so**my involving a child under 12, two counts of child abuse, four counts of production of child po*******hy and four counts of dissemination of child po*******hy.

Police Chief Justin Cooper says protecting children is the department's most important work and credited investigators and partnering agencies for acting quickly.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say they will continue following leads.

Margaret Police Department Announces Arrest Following Months-Long Investigation

The Margaret Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Brandon McCormick following a months-long investigation. McCormick has been charged with possession of child po*******hy, child solicitation by computer, and transmitting obscene material to a child.

The Margaret Police Department would like to thank the Ragland Police Department, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Clair County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.

McCormick is being held at the St. Clair County Jail on a $300,000 bond.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
