We apologize for the food truck not coming. They had a brake line go and were not able to arrive safely. We are talking about having 2 food trucks next years so we are covered.

Jody is a founding member of Northeast Pyr Rescue. Simon came into the rescue with a broken leg at 3.5 months old. They donated his rehabilitation and Sunny has now adopted him. He will have the best life ever.

For 25 years, Fitter Critters founder Jody Chiquoine, and more recently with her business partner Sunny Kasala, have worked with canine clients, helping them recover from injuries and surgeries.

It is about the dogs not where they came from, Rescue or otherwise. What rescue, shelter or breeder does not matter.

Tim Chiquione, the husband of one of our founding members, Jody Chiquione, owner of Fitter Critters, crafted nine one of a kind Pyrenees mailboxes several years ago. Tim passed away two years ago due to cancer, leaving these mailboxes scattered throughout the Northeast to forever serve as part of his legacy and his devotion to the Great Pyrenees breed.

Now, only one mailbox remains (without a home) and will be for sale at NEPR's Pyrapalooza event on October 5. Come early if you wish to purchase and bring this beautiful and functional work of art home to honor Tim and the breed we so love!

12:00 PM Treasure Hunt event and lunch
A food cart will be available for buying lunch Or your own picnic lunch.

1:00 PM
Becky from Good Choice Dog Training (www.goodchoicedogtraining.com) will be doing an informational talk about Canine Good Citizen and Therapy dog certifications. She is also an Evaluator and has a greed to do testing for Canine Good Citizen. Pyrenees, in the past, have made wonderful therapy dogs. Does yours have this in its future?
2:00 PM The rescue parade and awards

2:30 PM Scavenger Hunt winner and raffle winners announced.

3:00 PM Costume Contest (bring your own creation or make one from our treasurer boxes).
Other fun games:
Egg race - you hold the leash with a spoon and egg in hand and try to walk across the field without dropping it.
Musical Pyrs with hula hoops on the ground instead of chairs.
Sack Races (Owner in Sack and one dog per owner.)
Tricks or Special Talents?

4:00 PM (or after games) we say goodbye and pack it up.

Photos by Rebekah. Can be used for Christmas cards, presents, etc. Can include you and your Pyrenees or just the Pyrenees. For a minimum donation to the rescue.
Animal Communicator, Anna Klocke - Our pets have so much to tell us if we only listen. See her at her boot set quietly away from the rest for better communication.
Microchipping - Microchipping for donation of $25. No renewal fee for our Avid brand chips.

Raffle baskets.

Last year was a Success. We got to see old friends and meet new ones. Hope to see them and more this year (2024).

Pyrapalooza 2024. OCTOBER 5, 2024 at the Berkshire 4-H Fairgrounds , Utility Dr (Rd) , Pittsfield, MA

There is no charge to attend this event. It is about getting together. A chance for us all to reconnect or meet new People/Great Pyrenees. Utility Drive, Pittsfield, Mass ( Around the corner ...all the way to the end )

6 foot maximum leashes. No extendable leashes please.


SOME of the things we are having this year for Pyrapalooza 2024 ( we will update as we add more things) :

1) Animal Communicator, Anna Clocke - Our pets have so much to tell us if we only listen.

2) The rescue parade - Your Pyrenees does not have to have come from our rescue. Just needs to be a rescue.

3) Costume Contest ( bring your own creation or make one from our treasurer boxes).

Maggie got a woman to talk in a nursing home who had not talked in years. But she spoke to Maggie.

Snow did a reading program at the library with young kids. Dogs don't judge if you stutter or miss a word.

Anushka (deaf and crippled) went to a cancer center to comfort people. Freebird went and prayed with the terminally ill in the hospital.

A food cart will be there or bring your own picnic lunch.

This is a family event. 6 foot leashes maximum and no extendable leads for safety reasons.
