🥫💙 Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time!

We’re excited to share photos from a recent Million Meal Movement distribution in Boone County!

Thanks to the IU Health Community Outreach team and their partnership with Million Meal Movement, 22 cases of macaroni and cheese meal kits were assembled and delivered to food pantries throughout Boone County.

Each case contains 36 meal packets, with each packet serving approximately 6 people—that’s 4,752 potential meals headed to local families and neighbors in need! 🙌

We’re grateful for partnerships like these that help strengthen our community and support local food pantries. 💚

Did you know Boone County has 24/7 Recycling Drop Spots in Advance, Thorntown, and Whitestown? 🌎

Before you toss those recyclables in the bin, remember the 3️⃣ rules:

🧼 CLEAN — Give containers a quick rinse.
💧 DRY — Remove all liquids.
🙌 LOOSE — No bagged materials!

♻️ Accepted materials include:
🫙 Glass jars & bottles — all colors
🥤 Plastic bottles, jugs, tubs & film bags
📬 Paper, food boxes, newspapers & junk mail
🥫 Steel & aluminum food/drink cans
🥛 Food & drink cartons
📦 Cardboard — please flatten!

📍 Advance: 101 South Main Street
📍 Thorntown: 500 South Front Street
📍 Whitestown: 6210 Veterans Drive — Municipal Complex

🚫 Please remember: No Styrofoam, household trash, food/yard waste, electronics, appliances, furniture, scrap metal, household hazardous waste, building materials, toys/play equipment, or other non-accepted items.

⚠️ No dumping outside of the bins.

Showcase your artistic talents with the Boone County 4-H Handbook cover contest!🎨

Judging Criteria:
🌟Keep your design 8" x 10".
🌟Use your best artistic skills with coloring utensils or create a computer design!
🌟The cover will be printed in black, white or green.
🌟Put first name, last name and phone number on the back of your design.
🌟Use the legal 4-H clover

Submit your design by September 15th to the Extension office or via email at [email protected]!🍀

This collection is open to all Boone County residents. 🏡

Even though the Indiana State Fair is over, we're still celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our Boone County 4-H youth! 🍀🎉

Congratulations to Cooper Wilhoite on another outstanding year in 4-H Photography! 📸👏

This was Cooper's 2nd year having his photography project selected for the Indiana State Fair, and he earned a Blue Ribbon for the second year in a row! 💙🏆

What an incredible accomplishment and a wonderful example of the dedication and creativity that goes into 4-H projects. We are so proud of Cooper! 💚🍀
