Are you seeing Jupiter this morning tucked up right next to the moon? The occultation occured from 4:18 to 5:18 this morning. Now its making for a pretty breathtaking view for those on their early commute.

Say goodbye to Venus

The planet will be conspicuous by its absence in the our evening sky.

• difficult to spot after Oct. 5.
Say goodbye to Venus – for now.

Venus passes Earth. Earth and Venus move counter-clockwise around the sun as seen from far above the sun's north pole. When it passes Earth on Oct. 24, Venus shifts from the evening sky to the morning.

With the Milky Way dropping in the west, a quieter section of the sky climbs in the east and lies overhead. October provides a great time to inspect the wonders of the Milky Way! And don’t forget to admire the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds in the south.
