The UVMBA formed in 1999 to create a collective voice for mountain bikers throughout the area and to perform trail work and improvements. In the subsequent years the group has continued to add to and rebuild multiple use trails in Plainfield, Lebanon, Norwich, Hanover, Hartford, and Windsor. Our projects have included assisting the Norwich Conservation Commission with building and maintenance of t

he Ridge Trail on Gile Mountain – Norwich VT, building and improving trails in Plainfield, stabilizing a eroding bank in Paradise Park for the Windsor Conservation Commission, and most recently rebuilding a bog bridge on the East Side Trail at Boston Lot City of Lebanon Conservation Commission, among other jobs. The UVMBA also assists with the Vermont 50 Mile Mountain Bike Race. Our members believe in giving back to the forests, trails, and community.

Calling all Mountain Bikers! 🗣️ It’s time to shred for a cause. We are thrilled to announce the Return of The Dam Ride! 🪵🚲

This isn't just any ride—it's a summer-long challenge supporting the Upper Valley Mountain Bike Association (UVMBA) with a chance to win some incredible prizes. 🎁

How it Works:

1️⃣ COMPLETE a mountain bike ride at all three of these trails before October 4th: 🌲 Landmark 🌲 Hartford Town Forest 🌲 Union Village Dam

2️⃣ E-MAIL the dates of your completed rides to [email protected].

Complete all three rides, and you'll be entered into a drawing for prizes from our fantastic sponsors, including Mason Racing Cycles, Samuel Adams, Sawtooth Kitchen Bar & Stage, and Ski Quechee! The drawing will be held at the UVMBA Epic on October 4th.

Heads up!!

We're doing some mini excavator work on the entry trail so Nature Walk Trailhead will be closed Tuesday July 21st. We're hoping the work will be done by afternoon and we can open back up around 5pm for the after work crowd.

After this, expect intermittent closures throughout the zoo through the rest of the month.

**[🚨 TRAIL WORK ALERT & EXCITING NEWS! 🚨]**
Big things are happening on the trails! We are thrilled to announce that we are officially working to make the **Route 10-Lower Hardwoods loop** fully passable for adaptive mountain bikes (aMTB)! 🚵‍♂️♿️
Our goal is to create a more inclusive, accessible network, and we’ve got some major upgrades lined up to make it happen:

* **5 Bridge Upgrades:**

Thanks to a generous grant from the **Kelly Brush Foundation** , we are widening five bridges to a spacious 42 inches to safely accommodate adaptive bikes.

* **Smoothing the Ride:**

We’ll be tackling various spot improvements along the loop to eliminate tricky choke points and reduce tipping hazards.

* **More Fun for Everyone:**

Widening these bridges and clearing out the bottlenecks doesn't just open the trail to adaptive riders; it makes the flow smoother and more fun for *every single person* who rides it! 🌲✨

We’ve already kicked off the hard work, and we had some incredible help recently! A massive thank you to the awesome students from **Hartford Middle School** who came out to get their hands dirty, move some dirt, and help us make these trail improvements a reality. You rock! 🛠️💪
A big thank you again to the Kelly Brush Foundation and our community rockstars for helping us break down barriers and get more wheels on the dirt.

Mark your calendars: Wednesday May 29th will be our first weeknight trail work session of the year! The project will involve working on rock armouring on Lakeside Lurk. We’ll meet at the Wilder Dam trailhead and walk to the work site. It will likely be muddy, so please bring clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, as well as work gloves. Tools will be provided.

Also, reminder we are having our Member Appreciation Day this Sunday May 17th at 9:30AM. We have group rides starting at the nature walk trailhead with a barbeque after the ride.

Huge shoutout to everyone who crushed it at our **Spring Work Day!** 🛠️☀️
We had an incredible turnout, and the progress is real. Because of your sweat equity, we checked some massive projects off the list:
* ✨ **Witchcraft is prepped & OFFICIALLY OPEN!** Go get those laps in.
* 🚵 **Hardwoods** got some love with two brand-new berms.
* 🪨 **Canyon** is looking solid thanks to some heavy-duty rock armoring.
* 🪵 The Lot is looking much cleaner after a literal ton of wood was hauled out from old bridges.

Our trails wouldn't be what they are without this community. Thanks for showing up, digging deep, and keeping the stoke high.
