We have some availability in our adaptive horseback riding program. Contact [email protected] to register!

Horseback riding may help children with autism better manage behavioral and emotional challenges, according to new research. 🐎

The study provides strong evidence suggesting that therapeutic horseback riding can help reduce hyperactivity in children with autism and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Researchers also found benefits from horse-related activities that don't involve riding, including improvements in emotional regulation and social functioning.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS WEEKEND!
New and current volunteers are invited out Saturday and/or Sunday morning at 10am to help out with some property maintenance, clutter and stall cleaning, and lots more around the ranch. If you can't make it out this weekend, we are also looking for regular feed and muck volunteer team members!

If you have your own weedeater/lawncare equipment, bring it! We really need your help, out here🙏. We are also looking for a large delivery of donated mulch, to repair our sensory trail after the rains. If you can help or have any questions, reach out to [email protected].

🐴 Did you know Open My World has a mobile program?
Golden Hooves (part of our H.A.P.Y. Mobile Outreach Program) brings our mini horses into senior living communities and memory care centers throughout our community. Residents get the chance to meet the horses up close, brush and groom them, lead them when appropriate, share stories, and simply spend some special time with them.

For seniors, especially those living with dementia or memory loss, these visits can encourage conversation and interaction, bring back memories, and create a whole lot of smiles. And our minis, Thunder and Lightning, are pretty good at making friends wherever they go. Just look at them, last week at New Hope Manor!❤️

Thanks to a generous grant from the Harry E. and Eda L. Montandon Charitable Trust, we are able to expand this program and visit even more seniors in our community. We are incredibly grateful for their support and for believing in the value of taking these experiences beyond our ranch and directly to the people who can benefit from them.

We’ve had a busy few weeks, trying to keep up with this heat! Thunder and Lightning got a little break from it a couple of weeks ago at Sam's Adventure Camp’s Bounce, Bubble & Roll event! What a blast! Thanks so much for inviting us to be included, we met so many wonderful families and look forward to the next one!!!!🫧
