🎉 Today, we are celebrating the birthday of Rare Wish CEO Trena J. Myers! 🎉
Trena’s journey is one of resilience, faith, compassion, and purpose.
After spending more than 40 years searching for answers about her own health, Trena finally received diagnoses that helped explain a lifetime of invisible symptoms and medical challenges. Instead of allowing those experiences to silence her, she chose to use her story to help other rare disease patients and families feel seen, heard, and supported.
During a deeply personal season of grief, Sunny the Rare Bear entered Trena’s life as a source of comfort. She soon recognized that Sunny could offer that same sense of hope and companionship to others. As CEO of Rare Wish, Trena helped bring Sunny’s mission to life. The first 10 Sunny bears found loving homes within 90 days, and a waiting list soon followed.
That small striped bear became a powerful reminder of something Trena has always believed: no one should have to walk through a rare disease journey alone.
Through Rare Wish, Trena continues to create meaningful moments for individuals and families affected by rare diseases. Her leadership is rooted in lived experience, genuine compassion, and a commitment to making the rare disease community more visible.
Today, we celebrate more than her birthday. We celebrate the lives she has touched, the hope she continues to share, and the legacy she is building one wish, one family, and one striped bear at a time.
