Attention Franklin County Veterans!!!!

Do you need assistance with a VA claim? Do you need information about the GI Bill? Do you need to speak with your regional Veterans Service Officer?

Your local VFW Post is bringing resources to you. Join us for a lunch and learn session on Saturday November 7th from 1pm to 3pm at 144 E. Main St. Enjoy a meal and some fellowship, and let us get those questions answered and get you the help you deserve!

Some of the resources we will have on hand include;

VSO: Help filing for your disability benefits! Information on obtaining a service dog? Other Georgia specific benefits and services.

Humana Medicare: Tricare for Life Medicare reps. Can answer all your Medicare questions.

We will also have information and brochures about medical ma*****na, DAV resources, contacts for obtaining service records, and other important information to assist veterans.

Come by your post, enjoy a meal, and let’s chat! We look forward to helping you.

Karaoke Tuesday 6 to 9 pm!!!!!

Come out and try your hand at singing like a rock star. Cheer on your friends as they belt out your favorite tunes. Dance, laugh, and enjoy being together. All of this at the VFW Post in Lavonia. We are open to the public! Hope to see you there.

🚨Attention all Veterans of Franklin County and surrounding areas!!!!🚨

Please join us at VFW Post 5897 in Lavonia on Saturday November 7th from 1pm to 3pm for a luncheon in Your honor. Come see the improvements we are making to your facility and hear about our activities in your communities.

We will have representatives from Humana Medicare and our regional Veterans Service Officer on hand to answer questions and provide information and advice regarding VA benefits and services.

Come meet fellow veterans, enjoy a good meal, and learn how you can get involved in the VFW and/or other veteran groups.

🚨Mark your calendars folks!🚨

Our yard/garage sale and community blood drive is happening on October 24th at VFW Post 5897, 144 E Main St, Lavonia. The Blood Mobile will be on site from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Come stroll through the tables of goodies, find just the right treasure, and when you've had your fill of shopping step outside into the Blood Connection truck and donate life. Hope to see you there!

Monthly membership meeting is October 15, 2026 at 6 pm. Members are encouraged to arrive a little early to enjoy dinner and fellowship before the meeting begins.
