Janice shared the powerful impact of The Rotary Foundation, highlighting how its work transforms lives not only within our local communities but across the globe.

Today Rita Shoemaker with the Franklin County Mentor Program joined us to accept a donation from the Rotary Club of Lavonia for the Book Vending Machine at the Lavonia Elementary School.

We’re proud to support this wonderful initiative that not only encourages children to read, but also opens the door to endless possibilities — from learning and imagination to discovering new worlds, ideas, and dreams through books. 📚

At today's meeting, we were delighted to welcome Ashley Umbehant, Downtown Development Director for Lavonia. Ashley shared exciting plans for the future of our downtown area, including this year’s upcoming Christmas events and ways the Rotary Club can contribute to supporting our community.

She shared exciting updates about the growth of our county, the new industries moving in, and the apprenticeship programs that are preparing our community for a strong future through workforce development.

Yesterday at our Rotary Club meeting, we welcomed Sheriff Scott Andrews of Franklin County.
He shared valuable insights on the ongoing opioid crisis, its impact on our community, and the steps being taken to address this challenge.
