Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority’s Trunk n’ Treat is today! We get started at 4pm and you’d better believe we’ll be in full candy mode by 4:15. Get your kids into costume and head on down. Our Trunk n’ Treat is held within our huge parking lot so there’s plenty room for everyone to enjoy a few hours of Halloween with the kids!

As a landlord, there’s nothing scarier than taking a chance on a new tenant. Halloween might have ghouls and goblins, but without proper vetting, you could be letting a really scary entity into your property. Why not partner with us? We have hundreds of vetted tenants, including families and older tenants, who need a good place to live. Join our Landlord program by calling Gaylynn now at (575) 528-2000.

Don’t forget our Trunk n’ Treat is scheduled for this Thursday. We’re not suggesting you’d forget Halloween is approaching this weekend, but our Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority Trunk n’ Treat is a couple of days ahead and might catch you off guard. Get the kids all dressed up and feel secure knowing they’re in a safe location having a great time!

Our landlords working directly with us through our Housing Choice Voucher program have the best of both worlds. We become your marketing company, sourcing new tenants when someone moves out. We have a dedicated case file manager you can report to directly. Best of all, you'll rent to a vetted list of people, and you won't have to run costly, time-consuming background checks. Interested? Call Gaylynn to ask more about becoming a landlord.

As overnight temperatures start to drop, this is a friendly reminder to quickly check your heaters before you put them into regular use, and to keep space heaters at least three feet away from anything flammable. Make sure your home temperature is set to at least 68F or warmer. This is also a good time to start putting plastic up over leaky windows.

It is heartbreaking to take an application made a year or two ago and delete it because it wasn’t filled out correctly. You can apply for one of our affordable homes on our website right now, but some people may be so taken with the convenience of the process that they overlook how important accurate, factual information is in every field of our forms. For your sake and ours, please apply for a home now, but be precise and mistake-free. You can contact us directly at any time for help.

Kids love Halloween, but it can be a stressful time for many parents. Keeping kids safe while balancing the excitement of the moment can be tricky. That's why Trunk O' Treat get-togethers work so well. It's all the fun of costumes and candy, but in a controlled environment. Join us at Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority's main address for our Trunk O' Treat next week!

Have any plans for tomorrow morning? Every Wednesday, the Meerscheidt Recreation Center has Zumba. It's a brand-new class, and if you're not familiar, it's a dance-fitness party. It meets every Wednesday at 8:15 am, and it costs $2 per class, or $1 if you're 60 and over. You can even preregister on the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation website below!
