Hosted by the ⚓ Storm Trysail Club, ⚓ Columbia Yacht Club and ⚓ Chicago Yacht Club, the GLIOR gives college sailors the chance to step beyond dinghy sailing and experience the challenge of offshore racing on Lake Michigan.

The inaugural 2025 event delivered incredibly close competition, with victories in both the J/105 and Tartan 10 fleets decided by just one point. Now, the fleet is ready to build on that momentum.

More than just another college regatta, GLIOR is part of STC’s mission to create a pathway from college sailing to offshore and keelboat racing. We're giving the next generation of sailors the experience, skills and exposure to keep racing long after graduation. 🎓️

As we head into late August, college sailors are returning to campuses across the country, setting up dorm rooms, reuniting with teammates, and heading out for preseason practice on whatever body of water they call home.

That means we’re getting closer to another year of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta. After a highly successful event in 2025, marked by strong competition and plenty of enthusiasm, the Storm Trysail Club is excited to build on that momentum and make this September’s regatta even bigger and better. Including the great news that Chicago Yacht Club has joined in support to offer more race management and opportunities.

The hunt for the Callisto Cup 🏆️ begins September 25-27.
