“We purchased Dagwoods and Blondies from the original owner. We love our downtown and community, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to play a part in supporting Lapeer. We do sandwiches,
soups, and salads. All of our ingredients are GMO free. There's no nitrates, no preservatives in anything, and all of our produce is organic. We have a lady locally that grows our sprouts for us.
One of the things I love most about our business is that it brings more health conscious options to Lapeer, and that’s something that’s important to me.
The other half of Dagwood’s was Blondie’s. We went through a couple different phases and it turned into CREAM, a shop serving coffees and teas. We also make homemade Pop-Tarts using
my grandmother’s pie crust recipe. They're amazing! We rotate flavors every week. We also have a selection of curated gifts and other things that are ethically sourced.
Community means helping each other. If we run out of something, I can easily call a neighbor and ask to borrow something, and they do the same with us. I feel like that is something you don't get everywhere. Being in a smaller, tight-knit community, relationships mean that much more.
When it comes to building up the community, I think having different positive perspectives will really help push us forward. We need to continue to grow and bring in things we don't have, and
that takes different ideas and people working together.
