Last week we had the opportunity to celebrate a special milestone as Cherry's, LLC marked their 2 year anniversary in Historic Downtown Lapeer!

For the past two years, Cherry's has brought a wonderful mix of Michigan made products, healthy and delicious grab-and-go meals, snacks, and treats to the downtown, while also offering prepared meals that can be ordered in advance.

We recently stopped in for a visit and a quick showcase of this great downtown business. Join us in congratulating Cherry's on two years of serving the community and helping make Historic Downtown Lapeer such a special place to shop, explore, and support local!
Here's to continued success and many more years ahead!

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer it is a day of gratitude and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As you spend time with family and friends today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who never made it home.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and safe Memorial Day.

Good Morning from Historic Downtown Lapeer!
Join us this morning for Coffee Hour at the Lapeer Main Street DDA Office in the Lyric Mall from 8:00am to 9:00am. We will be brewing up a pot of the Chocolate Cherry coffee from TheDoghouse.Coffee this morning.

Let’s talk about the community, your favorite local businesses, what you’re celebrating this week, downtown updates, construction progress, the Pistons, the Tigers, upcoming events, or whatever is on your mind.

This is simply a chance to connect with neighbors, share ideas, support one another, and start the day on a positive note. We just ask that federal politics and negativity stay at the door.

Community starts on Main Street. Hope to see you this morning! β˜•

Construction work continues throughout Historic Downtown Lapeer as crews make great progress on Pine Street, Park Street, and the municipal parking lot north of Nepessing Street.

Over the next couple of weeks, you can expect continued road work, underground utility improvements, electrical work, grading, and paving-related activity throughout portions of downtown as these major infrastructure projects continue moving forward.

As you can see from the photo below, work has already begun on sidewalks, curbing, and dumpster enclosures in the large parking lot and crews continue to be ahead of schedule on the project.

However, as with any large construction project, schedules and work areas may shift due to weather and other factors, and we appreciate everyone’s continued patience and support.

Most importantly β€” our downtown businesses remain OPEN, accessible, and ready to welcome you.

It’s a beautiful evening in Historic Downtown Lapeer, and the weather forecast for next week looks mostly warm and inviting. That makes it a great time to get out, enjoy downtown, visit your favorite shops and restaurants, and continue supporting local throughout construction.
