GST Michigan Works Employment-Training & Business Services through GST MI Works! Lapeer Co. One-Stop Service Center GST Michigan Works! is one of sixteen (16) Michigan Works!

agencies across the State of Michigan operating workforce development programs designed to assist employers in finding skilled workers and job seekers prepare for, find and retain employment. is governed by a Board of Commissioners representing Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee and Tuscola counties. In addition to the governing Board, a separate region-wide Workforce Development Board (WDB) made up of 21 members, leads the vision and planning decisions of the organization. has a region-wide team of employer focused Business Solutions Professionals available in all six counties to serve the needs of business. Additionally, GST offers a variety of employment services facilitated by an experienced staff of Career Counselors, Employment Specialists, and a diverse network of partners offering a host of Education, Training and Development resources. The Lapeer County Education & Technology Center is looking for an Agri-Science Facilities Assistant to help with the day-to-day care and operation of our animal center and greenhouse. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with animals, plants, and agriculture and is comfortable working independently.
Position highlights:
- 🐄 Assist with animal care, feeding, sanitation, and facility needs
- 🌱 Help maintain our greenhouse and Agri-Science facilities
- 🚜 Assist with equipment and general facility operations
- 📅 Saturday, Sunday & 1 weekday
- ⏰ 15 hours per week
- 📍 Education & Technology Center, Attica

The GST Michigan Works Lapeer Service Center is hosting an AARP representative on September 30th from 10 am - 12 pm, who will be available to share more about the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). Through SCSEP, eligible participants can receive on-the-job training in community service positions, working an average of 20 hours per week while earning the highest applicable minimum wage. Training & support are designed to help participants build the skills & experience needed to pursue future employment.
