We previously gave you the Discipline per Day, or Daily Discipline Plan (DDP) for implementing HEALTH. Now we are introducing Focus Group Dynamics (FGD).
FGD requires a group, and the individuals of the group must have acquired working knowledge of the Seven Principles.
Your group will consist of from seven to fourteen specialists each in one of the principles. Group meetings are essential but not all members need to meet at once, however all individual members must be in group with at least one other member each week. Connectedness is key.
In any group meeting one different person is given the gavel. The Gave (gauve) directs the conversation around one of the selected principles.
It is not too important that the principles be well practiced. The emphasis is on building community. You build the medium and platform for continued growth.

HEALTH: Heal the home and community. Apply the seven principles of health; mental, medical, physical, educational, vocational, civic and spiritual.
Take one for each day of the week. Mental Monday, Medical Tuesday, Physical Wednesday, Educational Thursday, Vocational Friday, Civic Saturday, and Spiritual Sunday.
Mix the order but make it meaningful.
Mental Monday works great to take stock of your mental health and prepare for the emotional challenges of the work week.
Medical Tuesday is for monitoring your diet, rest, heart, lungs, weight and paying attention to changes in your health.
Physical Wednesday is the swing day, where you exercise to maintain your cardio-vascular system and work on body weight.
Educational Thursday is where you recover from the exercise by reading a book, practicing a new craft, or have group discussions. Be intentional in extending the mind.
Vocational Friday finishes the traditional work week where you work to survive. Now take time to review your passion and make your plan to achieve it.
Civic Saturday is for the community to come together with intentional activities to improve personal relations and community involvement.
Spiritual Sunday is obvious but make it more than going to church for a few hours. Make each Sunday a special spiritual experience for yourself, the family and the neighborhood. Host mini-revivals and prayer and worship sessions.
Do all these things individually and in community.

HEAL: The health of a community and of individuals in the community can be identified in seven spheres, or key areas of health, those being; mental, medical, physical, educational, vocational, civic and spiritual.
For an individual the spheres can be represented by seven intersecting circles. Any change in one circle impacts the health of all others. When the areas are in harmony and balanced the personal life is strong and healthy.
When we apply this principle to several individuals such as a family their spheres intersect and the health of an individual can influence the health of the group. However this does not mean that every person must be the same, but it does support the concept that everyone needs to be changing. Just as the instruments in an orchestra have different parts but they are in harmony with the whole.

For a community the same key areas of health apply and the same dynamics apply, however with more complex interaction.

Individuals cannot achieve a wholesome healthy life in a community that is broken. A community cannot be healthy with broken people. A broken community can break people but a healthy community can heal people. To heal the people we begin with the community. However we cannot dwell on the community and not address individuals of the community. It involves changing the community and applying the result to the people.

Task one: Build a HEAL team task force. Identify and invite stakeholders and community leaders.
HEAL is a citizens ministry and will reflect the dynamics of the individuals and groups. It must not be based in nor driven by government or political entities, by community institutions, or by religious groups. It is important, however that these institutions should participate.
