Congratulations to Caila Fitchett, recipient of the Ross P. Broesamle Educational Scholarship!

“Words will never be able to truly express how grateful I am, but I would like to try. Growing up, I learned how heavy dreams can feel when you’re not sure how you’ll afford to reach them. Because of your support through the Lapeer County Community Foundation, I now get the chance to live out a future that once felt impossible.

As I prepare to pursue a career in psychology, I will always remember that because of your generosity, I now have the opportunity to make the world a better place. Thank you for believing in me, and through every life I am able to help, I hope to be a reflection of the kindness you have shown me."

Caila graduated from Dryden Community Schools and will attend Hope College studying psychology.

Congratulations to Charlotte Verougstraete, recipient of the Jim and Lorraine Jessop and P.E.O. Chapter DX Scholarships!

“These scholarships mean so much to me because they are allowing me to pursue my dream of being a teacher with less of a worry about tuition and housing costs. They give me more time to focus on my future classes instead of working a full time job at the same time. I am so grateful to be chosen for both of these scholarships."

Charlotte graduated from Almont Community Schools and will attend Saginaw Valley State University studying elementary education.

Governor Whitmer has proclaimed May as Leave a Legacy month for the State of Michigan. The Leave a Legacy program encourages Michigan residents to make legacy gifts through their wills and trusts so non-profit organizations can continue their work of serving and sustaining the quality of life that makes Michigan and our communities good places to work, live, and raise families.

Joining the Legacy Society of the Lapeer County Community Foundation means leaving a gift that ensures that the charitable organizations and causes that are meaningful to you continue to be supported for generations to come.
