A BIG, HUGE thank you to the Lapeer Optimist Club for supporting the Lapeer Lightning S***t Team!
If you’ve been around Lapeer for more than five minutes… chances are the Optimists have impacted your life somehow -
Sports fields? Yep.
School programs? Yep.
Scholarships, youth groups, community events, robotics, mentoring, Project Graduation, Nightmare on Nepessing, Lapeer Days traditions… also YEP.
These aren’t just people writing checks from the sidelines - this is a group that has spent decades actively investing in local kids and making this community stronger. Their entire mission is being a true “Friend of Youth,” and they live that out every single year.
Really, the amount of fundraising events they run is WILD...
We’re talking:
🎲 Vegas Night
⛳ The Henley Memorial Golf Outing
🍗 The famous Lapeer Days Chicken BBQ
🍻 Beer tents, co****le tournaments, raffles, and community events that somehow turn “raising money” into one giant hometown tradition
The best part?
The money raised goes RIGHT back into programs and opportunities for local youth. In the last year alone, the club donated tens of thousands of dollars throughout the community.
That kind of commitment matters.
