Growing up on Whidbey, Chantell has seen firsthand how Good Cheer shows up for this community through every season of life.

Today, she’s the owner of Pickles Deli, a supporter of Good Cheer, and someone who continues to give back to the community that supported her. Through fundraisers, advocacy, and sharing her story, Chantell reminds us that care comes full circle.

“Growing up here, Good Cheer has been pivotal throughout my life, starting from a very young age.”

As the cost of groceries, gas, and rent continues to rise across Whidbey Island, more neighbors are turning to Good Cheer for support. Stories like Chantell’s remind us that needing help is human, and that community support can shape lives for generations.

💛 Whidbey takes care of Whidbey.

If you’d like to help keep our Food Pantry stocked and accessible for local families, consider becoming a monthly donor today.

Today we’re launching Good Cheer, Full Circle: a campaign celebrating the way our community shows up for one another.

💛 Whidbey takes care of Whidbey.

Throughout this month, we’ll be sharing stories from neighbors who have both received support from Good Cheer and given back to our community through volunteering, advocacy, and generosity. These stories reflect something we see every day at the Food Pantry: care comes full circle.

As the cost of groceries, gas, and rent continue to rise across Whidbey Island, more neighbors are relying on Good Cheer to help keep food on the table. A week of groceries for a family of four, even shopping carefully and buying budget items, can cost more than $200.

At Good Cheer, we believe everyone deserves access to nourishing food and a welcoming community.

This month, we’re inviting you to help sustain that support by becoming a monthly donor. Reliable monthly donations help us keep our shelves stocked year-round - especially during the summer months, when donations are often at their lowest.

And this month, all recurring donations will be matched by our Board of Directors up to $5,000.

Good Cheer’s Farm + Garden Program is looking for a compact tractor to help us grow more food for our community!

We are seeking a compact tractor with:
• At least 20 HP
• A front bucket/scoop attachment (for moving compost)

If you or someone you know has a tractor that may fit our needs (and would consider donating it or selling it) we would love to hear from you.

This equipment would make a huge difference in our ability to grow fresh produce for the Good Cheer Food Pantry. Every season, our Farm + Garden Program helps provide fresh, healthy food to neighbors across Whidbey Island, and having the right equipment would greatly expand what we can do.

Donated equipment is tax deductible, and we are happy to provide documentation.

Please contact us at [email protected] if you have a lead!

It’s GiveBIG today!

At Good Cheer, we come together to create a hunger-free community. Across Whidbey Island, we’re seeing increased need as rising costs continue to stretch household budgets. Families from every corner of the island are turning to us for support.

Through our Food Pantry, Farm + Garden, and Thrift Stores, we work as one connected system: nourishing people and strengthening community across Whidbey Island. Our Farm + Garden grows fresh, seasonal produce that directly supports our Food Pantry, which ensures that neighbors have consistent access to healthy, nourishing food when they need it most.

When you give, you’re helping a neighbor put food on the table, and you’re helping build the kind of community we all want to live in: one where everyone has enough.

Nothing says thank you quite like pizza fresh from the garden 🍕

Last week, our farmers fired up the pizza oven and made 16 homemade pizzas for the incredible volunteers who have helped get our farm ready for the season. From weeding and planting to hauling and harvesting prep, this work simply wouldn’t happen without this community showing up again and again.

A very special thank you to Little Red Hen Bakery for supporting Good Cheer in so many ways, including providing their amazing pizza dough for our volunteer gatherings.

We’re so grateful for everyone who helps bring our farm to life 💛
