The SCA Board of Directors has invited kingdoms and principalities to submit proposals for future experiments exploring alternative Crown Tournament formats, with no new experiments beginning before April 2027. As part of that process, the Board is seeking to better understand the level of interest across the Society in alternative methods of determining the Crown and Heirs. To help inform that decision, the populace of Caid is being asked to share their thoughts! Please see the post linked below to learn more, and complete a short survey!

Dearest Baronial Family -

A new excessive heat warning has been issued for our area.

Because we love you, and your health and well-being is our primary priority - please consider this your "Mom and Dad" reminder -

1) STAY HYDRATED!
Drink plenty of water regularly - don't wait until you're thirsty!!

2) STAY COOL!
Stay in Air-Conditioned Places as Much as possible! If your home is not air conditioned, please reach out to someone in our Baronial Family who has A/C and can welcome you for a visit, or find a cooling center in your area - call 2-1-1 or check your local resources!

Keeping your blinds/shades curtains closed during the day may help reduce indoor heat.

3) IF YOU HAVE TO BE OUTDOORS, DO SO WISELY!
Plan your activities during the cooler temperatures of the morning or late evening if at all possible.
Wear loose, lightweight, light colored clothing and USE SUNSCREEN!!!
If you have to be outside, take frequent breaks and seek shade! Pace yourself and take your time!

4) KNOW THE SYMPTOMS OF HEAT ILLNESS AND SEEK MEDICAL ASSISTANCE WHEN NECESSARY!

5) STAY INFORMED!!
Be sure to check your weather reports for any alerts, watches, etc., as well as Air Quality Indices!

AND

6) CHECK ON ONE ANOTHER!!!!
Call a friend, and make sure they're doing alright! We are -family-!

Baronial Family! It is Dun Or's great honor to host Her Majesty Fara's Festival of the Rose - and we need YOUR help to make this event even more wonderful! Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedule to join us at our Baronial Populace Meeting/Althing! It is always a joy to spend time with our Baronial Family!

Congratulations to Her Majesty's Champions Ranged - Baron Tomaso da Barbiano - Archery , THL Ronan Bhal, Crossbow and Zachary Ravenshammer, Youth Champion.

We are hosting the Festival of the Rose in honor of Her Majesty Fara on August 15 - and we need YOU to help make the day complete! If you will be able and are willing to help in any capacity through the day, please reach out to our Steward, Duena Tsura (Victoria) or join in the discussion at our Populace Meeting. Help is especially needed at gate, helping Lord Cillian!

Pre-Registration for Great Western War 2026 is now LIVE at https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLScCRmMGUp.../viewform ! As a reminder, if you wish to camp with our Baronial Family, you *MUST* allocate land for those who will be camping with us, so that we will have adequate space for all our family!
