Each year, we host our Thriving Youth Scholarship Essay Contest, inviting youth ages 16-24 to submit an essay for a chance to win a scholarship that will support their personal, professional, and academic goals. ✔️

🏆 This year, thanks to grants and our generous sponsors, we are equipped to award two winners: the first-place winner will receive $2,500, and the second-place winner will receive $1,000!

Congratulations to the Junior Thrivers Program Class of 2026! 🎓💙

Over the past 8 weeks, these incredible young leaders have challenged themselves to grow personally and professionally. From building resumes and practicing interview skills to exploring healthy relationships, leadership, financial literacy, and future career pathways, they’ve invested in becoming the best versions of themselves.

At our Graduation Showcase, our intern presented their final project, sharing the knowledge, confidence, and passion they’ve developed throughout the program. It was a powerful reminder that when young people are given the tools, mentorship, and opportunity to thrive, they become changemakers in their communities.

To our Junior Thrivers: Thank you for showing up, supporting one another, and embracing every challenge with courage. We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.

A heartfelt thank you to our staff, JTP alumni, facilitators, partners, families, and supporters who made this summer possible. Your investment in our youth is creating a brighter future for the Antelope Valley.

Week 7 is officially complete, and it’s hard to believe we have just ONE week left before our Junior Thrivers Program comes to an end. 🥹

This week was all about preparing our interns for life beyond the program through Career Day. Interns met with three entrepreneurs—our Executive Director Shanise Hart, Helens Way from BOGA 501c3, and YB Terrion —who shared their unique career journeys, lessons learned, and advice for building a meaningful career. They also practiced their personal pitch and learned how to confidently answer interview questions like, “Tell me about yourself.”

As part of our Project CJ Healthy Relationships curriculum, interns explored healthy responses, coping, and stress management. A special thank you to Jacqueline 🦋👨‍🔧👸💔😪 from Erick A Garcia You Are Enough🦋 |Suicide Prevention Center for leading a thoughtful conversation on su***de prevention and reminding our interns that asking for help is a sign of strength.

We’re so proud of how much these young leaders have grown, and we can’t wait to celebrate them at our Junior Thrivers Graduation Showcase next Saturday!🎉

🔎A look inside our Project Cj: Healthy Relationships Workshop!

Our interns explored conflict management and resolution in a fun, interactive skit with the help of our amazing SAIL alumni!

They acted out the difference between unhealthy and healthy communication, learning how to recognize conflict, respond with respect, and work toward positive resolutions.🫱🏾‍🫲🏼

Healthy relationships aren’t about avoiding conflict. They’re about knowing how to navigate it in a way that builds trust, understanding, and respect. 🫡

Only 2 weeks left in our Junior Thrivers Program and what an incredible journey it has been! As we get closer to graduation, our interns continue gaining the knowledge and skills they’ll carry with them long after this summer.

👉🏾In week 5, Our Marketing Director, Tanina, introduced interns to the world of social media marketing, covering the role of a social media manager, platform strategies, and how to create engaging content.

👉🏾In Week 6, interns built essential financial literacy skills with Regeania Rose-Johnson of Revolution Financial Management, learning about budgeting, credit, saving, and planning for their future. 💰 Regeania Rose-Johnson

As part of our Project CJ Healthy Relationships curriculum, they learned about bystander intervention, how to safely support others and explored conflict resolution, gaining tools to navigate conflict in healthy, respectful ways. 💫

🎙️We also toured the Operated by EmpowerThem Collective, where The EmpowerThem Collective founder TaVia who inspired our interns by sharing how the organization empowers young people through entrepreneurship and creative opportunities!

✨ It’s hard to believe we’ve already completed Week 5 of the Junior Thrivers Program. Time is flying, and it’s starting to feel a little bittersweet. 💙

Over the past five weeks, our interns have challenged themselves, built new skills, formed lifelong friendships, and grown into confident young leaders. While we’re excited for what’s ahead, we’re also reminded that our time together is quickly coming to a close.

Now, it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve accomplished! 🎉
